1. When did you start boxing?  I got serious about it in 1996.

2. When was your last fight and did you win?  End of 1999, Win by KO in the 2nd round.

3. What gym did you train at when you were competing?  Multiple.  My first trainer trained me in a karate dojo, he then took me to Kings Gym in Oakland, Gladiators in Redwood City, and boxing gyms in San Francisco.  The travel to different gyms allowed me to get good sparring with all kinds of different pro and amateur fighters.  My second “home” gym became the Concord Youth Center.

4. Who was your trainer?  My first trainer was “Primetime” Eddie Croft.  My second trainer was Cliff Hill.

5. Who were some of your sparring partners?  Eddie Croft,  Christian Cruz, R.J. Karsten,  Art Morales,  and a bunch of fighters I did not know.

6. Who or what got you started in boxing?  Long story.  My great uncle was a professional fighter.  I have been a huge fan of the sweet science since I was a child.  I started hitting the heavy bag just for fun and exercise when I was younger.  After becoming a police officer, an unknown member of the athletic club I belonged to saw me on the heavy bag.  He approached me and asked if I was a fighter.  When I told him I was not a fighter, he told me that maybe I should be and gave me Eddie Croft’s phone number.  I called Eddie and he agreed to train me.

7. Do you still train? YES

8. Will you ever fight again?  Unfortunately….NO

9. Who is your favorite boxer?  Boxing has such a rich history that is filled with so many great fighters.  I cannot just pick one.

10. What was your first job?  As a kid I worked on a paint crew with my father.

11. Fight entrance music?  An old DMX song off his first album.

12. Most memorable athletic achievement?  Fighting in the Rose Bowl and winning the Gold Medal in the Police Olympics.

13. When did you start your career in public safety?  1995

14. What would people be surprised to know about you? I raise birds and keep them as pets.

15. What are some of your hobbies?  Reading, working out, coaching sports, and training fighters.
