3 LAPD figDSC_1838 (800x468)hters participated in an open workout Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the City of Angels boxing gym in Los Angeles to promote their upcoming fights. The UCA Middleweight Champion Hector Mendoza will defend his title against #3 Travis Clark, Stockton PD. Quincy Mirage will defend his UCA Super Middleweight Title vs TBA and #3 Mike Delery will take on former #1 ranked David Bermudez, East Bay Regional Parks PD for the UCA Welterweight Championship Title. Coach Jorge Gonzalez has a game plan for each of his fighters. He knows his fighters have tough challenges ahead of them and doesn’t want to give away what the fighters plan to do on fight night. Video cameras were turned off during sparring. The UCA MiddleFullSizeRender(10)weight title challenger Travis Clark, Stockton PD held an open work out at SPYA Boxing Gym to promote his upcoming fight. Clark will challenge the UCA Middleweight Champion Hector Mendoza, LAPD on Saturday October 1, 2016 at Pacific Palms Resort & Hotel. Clark is in tremendous shape and with over a month to go before fight time he is one pound over the 160 pound weight limit. When Travis was asked about his fight with Mendoza he had this to say, “Well the fight is in LA and Mendoza is from LA. I know in order for me to win the fight can’t be close.” When Clark’s coach Steve Salas was asked if he had a game plan or strategy, Salas said, “We have to work on Travis first. Once we get Travis where we need him we will work on our strategy for Mendoza.” Fight fans don’t miss this one. This Fight is worthy of Pay Per View. Stevens-vs-GarciaWidely regarded as one of the best fighters in Public Safety the reigning and defending Cruiserweight Champion Brian Stevens, LASD returns to the ring Saturday October 1, 2016. Brian Stevens is the face of the cruiserweight division. He has held the title longer than any other champion. He defeated two #1 ranked challengers to win and defend his title. Stevens will face his 3rd #1 ranked opponent when he squares off with rising star Guillermo Garcia, LAPD. Ladies and gentlemen fights like this don’t come around often. 3 figFullSizeRender(13)hters walked away with UCA gold medals Friday night at the Hot August Fights event at the Doubletree Hotel In Sacramento. 4th ranked Devon “DJ” Dejoie, U.S. Navy moved up one weight class to square off with Hugh Estrada, CHP. When the final bell sounded Dejoie would pick up a unanimous decision win and UCA gold around his neck. IMG_3343Next up was Ray Cancel, CDCR, CSP Sac looking for his first win against Matt Eleopoulos, District Attorney’s Office. This was a back and forth battle between two evenly matched fighters. After 3 hard fought rounds Cancel IMG_3361would pick up his first win and UCA gold. The main event featured #1 ranked Josh Webb, CHP looking to add another check in the win column. Webb battled with Carey Mastin of Modesto for 3 competitive rounds. In the end it was Webb who used his experience and a calculated attack to pick up the victory and claim UCA gold.

Bermudez is scheduled to rumble with #3 Mike Delery, Los Angeles Police Department Saturday, October 1, 2016. Bermudez held an open work out at the Dragons Den, in Union City to show how ready he is. During the workout the former UCA undefeated Welterweight Champion Brent Bugarin, Santa Clara Sheriff’s Dept. walked in and padded up to give Bermudez a few rounds. What better way to prepare for a title fight then to spar with the champ. Will Bermudez become the new UCA Welterweight Champion?
