The SoCal Battle of the Badges today announced that the UCA Jr Middleweight Champion Christian Pharo, San Diego Fire Lifeguard will not be fighting. Pharo injured his rib sparring last night. He left the hospital this morning with a broken rib and has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled UCA Jr Middleweight Championship Title fight with #1 ranked Dusty Rodriguez, Santa Monica Fire Dept February 8, 2019. “I’m so disappointed” Pharo said. “I was on point with my training and feeling really good. now this.” Pharo went on to say he will give Dusty his shot at the title later this year and he was sorry he had to pull out of the February 8th title defense.

The UCA #1 ranked Masters Super Heavyweight Mario Alonzo, Centinela State Prison was sent to Sacramento to attend Leadership training this week for work. Mario is preparing for the biggest fight of his career and did not want to break training camp. The owner of California Boxing and MMA, Gil Zaragoza opened his gym for Alonzo to train for the week. Alonzo flew in Sunday night from San Diego and was in the gym on Monday. Alonzo will go toe to toe with decorated amateur David Lomeli, Ironwood State Prison for the Masters UCA Super Heavyweight Title at the SoCal Battle of the Badges Friday February 8, 2019 at Agua Caliente Resort & Casino.

The highly anticipated Masters UCA Light Heavyweight title fight rematch between #1 Izzy Montes, CDCR CSP Sacramento and the Champion Mike Hagen, CHP takes place April 6, 2019 at the Hanford Civic Auditorium. One will fall and one will emerge as the UCA Champion. Montes comes into the fight with upset on his mind while Hagen the newly crowned champion looks to put his stamp on the title by defending it.
