Gerardo Serrano,  SCCCD Police Dept, Jenny Gallegos, Fresno Sheriffs Dept and Anthony Walker, Reedley Police Dept are eager to prove they are one of the sports best. On April 11, 2020 they will get their chance. Serrano will meet Remin Pineda, LASD in a 3 round battle for the UCA Light Heavyweight title. Gallegos will step into the ring with Jessica Segovia, Banning Police Dept for the UCA Welterweight crown. Walker will go head to head with Mike Valle, CDCR – Pleasant Valley State Prison for the UCA Super Middleweight strap. The UCA #1 ranked Jr Heavyweight Noel Montes, CDCR Folsom Prison works out with, UCA Trainer of the Year Mel Walker this morning at Grimz Gym. Montes is preparing to step into the ring with 3rd ranked Efrain Moreno, LAPD for the vacant UCA Jr Heavyweight Title. Montes and Moreno will meet at the Central California Battle of the Badges, Saturday April 11, 2020 at the Hanford Civic Auditorium.  Doors open at 5pm first punch thrown at 7pm. The UCA 3rd ranked Jr Heavyweight Efrain Moreno, LAPD is closing in on his final weeks of training camp before his UCA Jr Heavyweight title fight against #1 ranked Noel Montes, CDCR Folsom Prison. Moreno trains under the guidance of coaches Jose and Nacho Saucedo at Westside Boxing Club in Los Angeles. Moreno’s coaches are creating a game plan for him to leave the ring as the new UCA Jr Heavyweight. The undefeated UCA #1 ranked Cruiserweight Sean Baker, Los Angeles Fire Dept is training ferociously in preparation for his title fight with the undefeated reigning and defending UCA Cruiserweight Champion Anthony Cross, CDCR-CSP Sacramento. Baker has a lot of respect for Cross and knows what he is capable of and is not underestimating him at all. Baker has set up his training camp at the Ontario Boxing Club in Ontario CA. and has an entirely new training regimen. Baker trains under veteran trainer Daniel “Chino” Hernandez and states, “There are so many good fighters with different styles to learn from here.” Baker is sparring and training with professional fighters and is being trained like a pro fighter, he does everything the pros do. Baker has never worked so hard in preparation for a fight but this is the kind of training he needs ahead of his fight with Cross. This fight is going to bring Public Safety boxing to another level. The undefeated UCA 3rd ranked Middleweight Alejandro Tafoya, San Joaquin County Sheriffs Office started his training camp preparations 10 weeks ago as he looks to be in peak condition when he steps into the ring with ZJ Poirier, U.S Postal Service Federal Agent. Tafoya trains at FC Boxing Academy in Stockton under coach Victor Galdon and Felipe Martinez. Tafoya’s coaches are preparing him to become the new UCA Middleweight Champion.

The undefeated UCA 4th ranked Jr Cruiserweight Bogdan Gushchin, Elk Grove Police Dept is winding down his training camp for his showdown with the undefeated #1 ranked Cesar Sosa, CDCR – CMF.  Gushchin trains at Legacy Muay Thai, in Sacramento under coach Ignacio “Iggy” Zambrano who has him training at peak intensity. Due to the growing concerns over COVID-19 and the recommendation by the Center for Disease Control  to extend the restrictions of sporting events, parties, large gatherings, concerts, etc to slow the spread of the virus, the April 11, 2020 Central California Battle of the Badges event has officially been postponed. 

The health and safety of the fighters, fans, officials and partners is of the utmost importance to us, and we thank you for your continued support. Hang in there, stay safe and this too shall pass. Boxing fans can look forward to experiencing something memorable and special real soon!

To the fighters who were scheduled to fight in the Central California Battle of the Badges we are very sorry, we know you sacrificed so much to compete in this event. We will make it up to you. 

Ticket Refund Information: All ticket orders will be refunded from your original point of purchase. If you have purchased online through Eventbrite all orders will be refunded automatically. Please allow 7-10 days for this refund.
