The former reigning and defending UCA Jr Welterweight Champion BJ Adkins, Raleigh County Sheriff’s Dept will travel over 2500 miles from West Virginia to California for his chance to capture greatness. Adkins will challenge #1 ranked José Espinoza, Fresno Sheriff’s Dept for the UCA Lightweight Crown. If Adkins wins he will become the first UCA Lightweight Champion and join an elite group of 2 division champions.
This will not be an easy feat for Adkins to pull off. Espinoza is younger, has more experience and will be fighting in his backyard. While most people would turn this fight down Adkins welcomes the challenge. He takes more risks than anyone. Adkins faced the undefeated UCA Jr Welterweight Champion Shant Sheklanian, CDCR – State Parole and traveled to compete in the Louisiana Battle of the Badges twice. Adkins sets a new standard for public safety boxing every time he competes.
Adkins vs Espinoza will be one of nine championship fights scheduled for the Central California Battle of the Badges Saturday April 15, 2023 at the Visalia Convention Center.
