It was a big weekend in the world of boxing, featuring events such as the California State Golden Gloves, Golden Boy, Matchroom, and Bare Knuckle Boxing. However, this didn’t deter the dedicated fans from attending and supporting the 10th annual UCA Central California Battle of the Badges at the Visalia Convention Center. Once again, loyal fans packed the Visalia arena to support and cheer on their beloved fighters. 17 action-packed fights had the fans on their feet. 7 new UCA Champions were crowned.
The New UCA Lightweight Champion Carlos Lira, proudly representing Cal Fire has made a name for himself and sets the benchmark in the Lightweight division.
The UCA Jr Heavyweight Championship title once again belongs to Efrain Moreno, who proudly represents the Los Angeles Police Department. Moreno becomes The New UCA 2X Jr Heavyweight Champion and continues to set a high standard in the division.
The undefeated newly crowned Masters UCA Heavyweight Champion Jason Stingley. is the first Champion to represent the Pismo Beach Police Dept. Jason continues to be the premier example in the division.
The Hanford Police Department has its 2nd champion courtesy of The New UCA Jr Lightweight Champion Priscilla Valdovinos. Priscilla upholds the highest standard in the Jr Lightweight division.
Courtesy of the new undefeated UCA Light Heavyweight Champion, Ryan Ramirez, the Los Angeles Fire Department is in the spotlight. Ryan remains the gold standard in the Light Heavyweight division.
Representing CDCR – Sierra Conservation Center Manuel Galvan has claimed the UCA Super Cruiserweight Championship title. His relentless persistence and exceptional skills in all areas earned him the title and making him a significant challenge for anyone in the division.
The UCA Lightweight Championship title now belongs to Shanne Ruelas, who represents CDCR – San Quentin State Prison with pride. Ruelas seems to have A-plus skills across the board and has set the bar high in the division.
UCA Fight of the Night honors went to Jesus Coronado from Sanger FD and Juan Valle from the Madera Sheriff’s Office. The UCA Golden Fists award was given to Anthony Rodriguez from the LAPD and Everardo Palomares from CDCR – SATF. The UCA Gladiator Award winner is Kyle Gibson from FBOP – Atwater.
Proceeds from the event benefited the family of Selma Police Officer Gonzalo Carrasco who was tragically killed in the line of duty on January 31, 2023 at 11:45 am at the 2600 Block of Pine Street in Selma, CA.
The Fallen Officers Resource Fund, Hanford West High School NJROTC Program and the Visalia Police Dept Explorers program.
