A Division Built For War

The UCA light heavyweight division is the most talent rich division in the organization right now. 1–10 is a murderous row of fighters. Five of the top six are undefeated. The division isn’t just deep, it’s explosive. And once the belt is in play, a feeding frenzy is inevitable. Waiting for their chance to break through are names like JaVun Willie, Rance Garces, Ricky Cabrera, Rogelio Soto, and Mario Martinez. At the top, there are no easy fights. Every opponent is battle tested and tough as nails.

Sooner or later they will meet each other.

Originally, JaVun Willie, CDCR – CSP Sacramento was set to challenge for the title but unfortunate timing has forced him to withdraw from the bout against Anthony Rodriguez. With the opportunity suddenly open two fighters were called. After careful consideration, undefeated #4 ranked  Evererdo Palomares, CDCR – SATF was offered the fight.

Now, two fighters who have yet to taste defeat will prepare for the toughest fight of their careers. Palomares and Rodriguez come from gyms built on hard rounds, discipline, and championship standards. Both fighters bring skill, heart, and determination, and in a fight of this magnitude, they will be tested in ways they haven’t felt before.

With overall skills being equal, it will be their ring IQ that is pushed to the limit and ultimately may be the deciding factor in who becomes the new UCA Light Heavyweight Champion.
