UCA Fighter Profile: Jorge Estrada – CDCR – California Health Care Facility

Ready for the Challenge

On June 27, 2026, Jorge Estrada will make his long-awaited boxing debut when he steps into the ring against Harley Garcia, DSH – Coalinga at the Central California Battle of the Badges: Unfinished Business event in Fresno.

A correctional officer with CDCR – California Health Care Facility for the past two years, Estrada may be new to competitive boxing, but he is no stranger to hard work, discipline, and preparation. While he did not participate in organized sports growing up, he found his calling in combat sports for a simple reason, to be able to protect himself and his family.

The Beginning of the Journey

Estrada began training in 2020 and quickly developed a passion for boxing. Although he has not competed in MMA, Muay Thai, wrestling, or any other combat sports, he has gained valuable experience through years of sparring and training in the gym.

For Estrada, stepping into the ring is about more than winning a fight.

“I believe it’s the path to reach my higher self.”

That mindset has fueled his commitment throughout training camp as he prepares for the biggest challenge of his athletic career.

Preparing for Fight Night

Training out of Felipe’s Boxing Academy in Stockton, Estrada has spent the last six weeks preparing for his showdown with Garcia. His dedication has been relentless, training seven days a week while balancing the demands of work and family life.

When asked about the biggest challenge of preparing for his ring debut, his answer was straightforward,

“Finding time to train.”

Despite that challenge, Estrada has remained focused on sharpening every aspect of his game. This camp has been centered around improving head movement, counter punching, endurance, conditioning, and body attack.

Bringing Speed, Technique, and Power

As fight night approaches, Estrada believes his greatest strengths will be his speed, technique, and power.

Those attributes have been developed under the guidance of Coach Felipe and with the help of his stablemate and fellow CDCR – CHCF fighter, Beto Ortiz, who has played a major role in helping him prepare for his debut.

The confidence Estrada has gained throughout camp is evident when discussing his expectations for June 27.

When asked for a prediction, he didn’t hesitate,

“I’m going to win.”

June 27, The Test Begins

Making a debut in the UCA Super Heavyweight division is never easy, especially against a battle tested opponent like Harley Garcia. But Estrada has embraced the challenge and has put in the work necessary to prepare himself for the moment.

On June 27, fans will get their first look at a fighter who believes boxing is helping him become the best version of himself. Whether it’s speed, power, or determination, Jorge Estrada plans to make his presence felt when he steps through the ropes at Fresno City College Gymnasium.
