With 44 days until the NorCal Battle of the Badges, the Masters #2 ranked Jr Cruiserweight Sam Oriyavong of the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office is right on track. Oriyavong is sharpening his skills three days a week at Midtown Fitness & Boxing in Sacramento. On fight night Sam will have the 3X UCA Coach of the Year Mel Walker in his corner. This time around, Oriyavong enters the fight with something he didn’t have before, experience. “I’m a different fighter this time around,” Sam said. “Last year I didn’t know what to expect. Now I do, and I’ll be ready.” That experience, combined with another full training camp, could make Oriyavong a much more dangerous fighter when the bell rings. Sam knows every round in the gym is preparing him for a fight that could change his position in the division. Oriyavong isn’t preparing just to return to the ring he’s preparing to show everyone just how much can change in one year.
Doors open at 4pm first bell rings at 6pm.
