Seven fighters competing in the Central California Battle of the Badges, representing the Federal Prisons in Atwater and Mendota, held a team workout Friday at their home gym, Haro Brothers Boxing Club in Merced. Team captain Kyle Gibson pushed his teammates through sparring and training as he looks to improve his #5 UCA Light Heavyweight ranking when he squares off against the undefeated, 2nd ranked Anthony Rodriguez of the LAPD.
#1 ranked Alberto Suarez looked sharp and ready as he prepares to take on Paul Mora of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office for the UCA Super Middleweight Championship title. Masters UCA Cruiserweight title challenger Charles “CJ Fit” Mitchell is confident and determined to be crowned champion in his UCA debut when he faces 4th ranked Chris “Murphy” Sanchez from the Tulare County Fire Department.
The Masters UCA Jr Cruiserweight Charlie Bogarin is working hard and aims to put on a flawless performance when he takes on Christian Robles of the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department.
During the workout, 9th-ranked UCA Light Heavyweight Devon McCarty showcased his speed and athleticism as he prepares to face 5th ranked Jr Cruiserweight Abdul Gorsi, CDCR – CMF.
Making their ring debuts will be UCA Jr Cruiserweight Rance Garces and UCA Cruiserweight Casey Cullen.
