What if I told you one team changed everything?
From 2013–2016, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department built the most dominant team in public safety boxing history. The standard was set. The dynasty was born. They were led by four architects of war, Armando Guzman, Mike Young, Al Fraijo, and Hank Nagamine coaches who were as feared in the ring as they were respected in the corner. Under their watch, a legacy was built. A culture. A standard. A dynasty.
The 2013–2016 roster is still considered the greatest team ever assembled, setting a standard the sport is still chasing. At one point, the LASD Boxing Team held five UCA championship belts at the same time: Brian Stevens, Alan Rojas, Mike Frazier, Matthew Pereida, and Stephanie Sparks.
And it didn’t stop there. The lineup had talent from top to bottom. Joshua Mejia, Jorge Caamal, Remin Pineda, Abran Rodriguez and Brandon Manning all fought in title bouts. The roster was so deep that most teams would have killed just to have their bench.
